Trans-Century Acquires Plant in the Democratic Republic of Congo, 5 April 2010 Anchor investors in the East African Cables Group (with production facilities in Kenya and Tanzania, and additional sales presence in Uganda, rwanda, Burundi) and Kewberg Cables and Braids (Pty) Limited (located in Johannesburg, South Africa) with alrge shareholding in Metal Fabricators of Zambia in Luanshya and the Democratic Republic of Congo to its electrical and power cable manufacturing platform.
Trans-Century Limited (TCL) has started up its newest acquisition in the electrical and power cable manufacturing sector, Cableries do Congo SPRL, in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).Cableries du Congo is the only manufacturer of cable in the country and in addition to meeting increasing demand for high quality and trusted electrical and power cables from the national utility SNEL, industrial , and retail customers in Kinshasa, the recently refurbished facility positions the Trans-Century electricals platform to supply distributors in the DRC and growing markets of Caneroon and parts of Angola. Trans-Century plans to invest significantly in increasing the capacity of the plant to meet the highly under-served demands of the customers in the region.

Trans-Century Group announces new appointments, 31 March 2009
Trans-Century has today announced the appointment of Dr.Gachao Kiuna as Group CEO and Managing Director. Gachao takes the place of Mr. Tony Wainaina who is moving to pursue other interests in the venture capital industry. The Group has also announced the appointment of Yida Kemoli as Senior Investment Officer.
The Group has also announced the appointment of Ms. Carol Musyoka as a Non-Executive director to the Board of Trans-Century.
